"Arming" button (11) on the keypad is enabledThe cutoff system is controlled by saw pump (8), saw motor valve (1), and saw motor (2). The saw pump is mounted on the pump drive that is attached to the engine. The saw pump sends hydraulic oil to the bank valve at port (P2) for the saw section of the valve. The saw pump only supplies oil to the saw motor function of the valve. Oil for the collector and grapple functions are supplied by the implement (auxiliary) pump. The saw is activated by pressing saw button (10) on the keypad. The engine speed must be greater than 500 rpm. The keypad sends a J1939 signal to the machine electronic control module (ECM) to communicate the activation of the button. The ECM sends a proportional signal to the front valve to control flow to the saw attachment.A variable displacement bent axis motor drives the output shaft of the saw. The saw motor is mounted to an adapter plate and coupled to the drive shaft by a splined coupler. Hydraulic oil for the saw motor is supplied by a pump that is mounted on the machine. The speed of the disc saw cannot be adjusted at the saw motor. The disc saw speed is adjusted at the saw pump mounted on the machine. The disc saw rotates at a constant high speed to fell a tree. The felling head is powered through the tree. The accumulator arm clamps the tree to the felling head after the cutting is complete.Reference: For more information on the saw pump, refer to Systems Operation, "Piston Pump (Saw)" for the machine that is being serviced.Reference: For more information on the saw motor, refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "General Information" for the felling head that is being serviced.Cutoff System
Saw pump (8) supplies hydraulic oil to saw motor valve (1) and saw motor (2). The saw pump is a variable displacement axial piston pump. The saw motor is a variable displacement bent axis motor. When the switch for the saw is not activated, there is no
