Introduction
The problem that is identified below has a known permanent solution. Use the solution that is identified below.Problem
On certain D6R2 Track-Type Tractors the ground terminal (B-) cable was assembled upside down at the battery disconnect switch touching the body of the disconnect switch. With the disconnect switch in the OFF position electrical power is still supplied to the cab but you are not able to crank and/or start the engine. With the disconnect switch in the ON position the machine will function normally.Solution
Note: This same solution applies to all the included models.
Turn the battery disconnect key to the OFF position.

Move cover (rubber boot) (2) off cable (1) connection to the battery disconnect switch.
Illustration 2 g06115633
(A) Good connection
(B) Bad connection
Illustration 3 g06124248
(A) Good connection
Illustration 4 g06124256
(B) Bad connection
Visually inspect the terminal to make sure that cable (1) is connected to the battery disconnect switch correctly. If the terminal is not correct, then proceed to Step 4.
Illustration 5 g06115581
Remove ground terminal (B-) cable (1) from the battery.
Remove cable (1) from the back of the battery disconnect switch.
Illustration 6 g06115674
Reinstall cable (1) onto the back of the battery disconnect switch with nut (3), nut (5), and washers (4). Refer to Illustration 6 for the correct orientation of cable (1). Ensure that cable (1) is not touching the housing of the battery disconnect switch.
Reinstall cover (2), reroute cable through existing constraints and replace straps. Eliminate any cable twist and reinstall cable (1) to the battery.
