Use Tooling (A) in order to raise the front axle until one of the wheels clears the ground. This will release driveline torque windup in the drive train. Lower the wheels back to the ground and remove Tooling (A) .

Raise the truck body. Secure the truck body in the raised position with Tooling (B) . Use a suitable lifting device in order to position Tooling (B) . The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 66 kg (146 lb).

Remove bolts (1) in order to disconnect drive shaft (2) from the yoke on the center axle. Use a pry bar in order to separate drive shaft (2) from the yoke on the center axle. Lower the drive shaft to the center suspension frame.

Remove bolts (3) in order to disconnect drive shaft (2) from the yoke on the through hitch drive shaft. Use two people and a suitable pry bar in order to remove the drive shaft from the machine. The weight of the drive shaft is approximately 49 kg (99 lb).

Remove lip type seal (4) from drive shaft (2) . Note the orientation of the lip type seal for installation purposes.Installation Procedure

Install lip type seal (4) to drive shaft (2) . The sealing lips must face in the same direction that is shown in the example.

Use two people in order to position drive shaft (2) to the machine. The weight of the drive shaft is approximately 49 kg (99 lb). Install bolts (3) in order to connect drive shaft (2) to the yoke on the through hitch drive shaft. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).

Install bolts (1) in order to connect drive shaft (2) to the yoke on the center axle. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).

Raise the truck body. Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove Tooling (B) . The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 66 kg (146 lb). Lower the truck body to the machine.
