Installation
Due to an update in the software architecture, the new 513-4484 Monitor Software Gp is now a .fl2 file. The fl2 extension is not readable by all software versions. Therefore, monitors with older software than 482-6500 Monitor Software Gp will not be able to detect the new 513-4484.fl2 file and the update will not be possible. The software will need to be installed in .fls format. Use the following steps to extract the .fls file from the .fl2 file.Note: The new monitor software is not compatible with all other software versions. Update to the latest machine and engine software files available in SIS to ensure compatibility.
Navigate to the software download page in SIS. Download the 513-4484.fl2 file.

Right-click on the file and using a Zip program such as 7-Zip, and open the file as an archive.

Open the "DataImages" folder.

Obtain the .fls file and use this file to flash the monitor software.
If there are any problems with obtaining the .fls file or installing the software, create a Product Health Service Request. Attach a description of the issue, reference this publication, and attach a Product Status Report (PSR) prior to submitting to Caterpillar.
