At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the breather filter cap only when the engine is stopped and the breather filter cap is cool enough to touch. Slowly loosen the breather filter cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Be cautious of hot hydraulic oil when any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system. Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal. 1. Disconnect cap and plug hydraulic lines (1), (2) and (3). 2. Remove four mounting bolts (4) and remove Priority valve (5). Start By:a. remove transmission priority valve 1. Remove two bolts (6) and cover (5). Remove O-ring (4) from the cover.2. Remove spring (3), spool (2) and slug (1) from the valve body. 3. Use Tool (A) and remove the snap ring from spool (2). 4. Remove retainer (9), spring (8) and ball (7) from spool (2). The following steps are for the assembly of the transmission priority valve. Clean all parts thoroughly, put a thin coat of clean oil on parts before assembly. 5. Put ball (7), spring (8) and retainer (9) in position in spool (2). Install snap ring (10) using Tool (A). 6. Put slug (1) in position in spool (2). Put spool (2) in position in the valve body.7. Put spring (3) in position in the end of spool (2).8. Put O-ring seal (4) in position in cover (5).
