Connect the steering frame lock.
Release the system pressure.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank for the implement and the hydraulic fan into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, Hydraulic System Oil (Implement), (Hydraulic Fan) - Change for the correct draining procedure.

Remove cover assembly (1).

Disconnect tube assembly (3) and hose assemblies (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to main control valve (4). The weight of main control valve (4) is approximately 55 kg (121 lb).
Remove bolts (5) from each side of main control valve (4). Remove main control valve (4).Installation Procedure
Install main control valve (4) in the reverse order of removal.
