Install the required shims determined in Step (17) between the head end of the stick cylinder and the boom on the opposite side of pin assembly retaining bolt (8) as shown in Illustration E07297.26. Make sure the pin bores of the components are in alignment. Install spacer (6) on the outside of the boom pin bore. Use a hammer to drive pin assembly (7) in the pin joint.27. Remove Tool (B) from pin assembly (7).28. Install pin assembly retaining bolt and washers (8). Tighten pin assembly retaining bolt (8) to a torque of 460 60 N m (339 44 lb ft).29. Support the stick cylinder from beneath the cylinder guard with the lift truck.30. If it has been determined that shims need to be installed between the stick-to-stick cylinder rod end pin bores remove pin retaining bolt and washers (4) from pin assembly (3).

Make sure the threaded hole in pin assembly (3) is clean and free of dirt prior to the installation of Tooling (A).
31. Fasten Tooling (A) to pin assembly (3). Fasten a lifting sling and a hoist to Tooling (A) for support. Use Tooling (A) to remove pin assembly (3) from the stick-to-stick cylinder head end pin joint.32. Remove spacer (5) from the outside of the boom pin bore when pin assembly (3) is removed.33. Remove Tooling (A) from pin assembly (3).34. Install Tool (B) in the end of pin assembly (3).35. Apply 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease on pin assembly (3).

Install spacer (5) on the outside of the stick pin bore and the shims determined in Step (17) between the rod end of the stick cylinder and the stick on the opposite side of pin assembly retaining bolt (4) as shown in Illustration E07296.37. Make sure the pin bores are in alignment and use a hammer to drive pin assembly (3) in the pin joint.38. Remove Tool (B) from pin assembly (3).39. Install pin assembly retaining bolt and washers (4). Tighten pin assembly retaining bolt (4) to a torque of 460 60 N m (339 44 lb ft).40. Remove the lifting sling and the lift truck supporting the stick cylinder. Refer to the topic "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" in the "Operation & Maintenance Manual" for the proper filling procedure and the proper levels for the hydraulic oil system.41. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level.42. Lubricate the stick cylinder support pin joints. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.43. Start the machine, and run it at low idle speed. Move the control lever for the stick cylinder so the cylinder rod extends to its halfway position; then retract the cylinder rod. The cylinder should be cycled this way approximately ten times to remove the air from the hydraulic system.
