Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Install O-ring seal (16) onto retainer (12) .

Install retainer (12) .
Use Tooling (D) to install Duo-cone seal (13) .
Install spacer (15) .
Install bearing cone (14) .

Install bearing cups (11). Use Tooling (D) to install Duo-cone seal (10) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to wheel (8). The weight of wheel (8) is approximately 635 kg (1400 lb). Position wheel (8) .
Install the O-ring seal and the shims. Use the shims to set the proper bearing preload. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Wheel Bearings - Adjust". Install retainer (9) .

Install the O-ring seal and cover (6). Refill the wheel. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill".
Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device onto fender (5). The weight of fender (5) is approximately 73 kg (160 lb). Install fender (5) .

Connect the brakes for the scraper.
Install pin (4) .
Adjust the service brakes. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Service Brake - Adjust".
