To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all the pressure in the steering system is released before any hoses are disconnected.
1. Loosen the tank cap to remove all pressure from inside the tank. Remove the cap after all pressure has been released.2. Drain the oil from the steering system hydraulic tank.
To prevent possible personal injury, do not disconnect the electrical cables from the supplemental steering pump and motor assembly until the cables have been disconnected from the batteries.
3. Put identification marks on electrical cables (3) and (6). Disconnect the electrical cables from supplemental steering pump motor.4. Disconnect oil outlet hose (5) that goes to the flow control valve.5. Disconnect oil inlet hose (1) that comes from the steering system tank.6. The weight of the supplemental steering pump and motor assembly is 25 kg (55 lb). Use two persons to hold the supplemental steering pump and motor assembly, and remove four nuts (2). Remove the supplemental steering pump and motor assembly from the frame. 7. Remove bolts (8) and (10). Remove pump (9) from electric motor (7).Install Supplemental Steering Pump And Motor
1. Put pump (2) in position on motor (1). Install the two bolts that fasten the pump to the motor. 2. Use two persons to put supplemental steering pump and motor assembly (6) in position on the frame. Install four nuts (4) and washers that fasten the supplemental steering pump and motor assembly to the frame.3. Connect oil inlet hose (3) from the steering system tank to the supplemental steering pump.4. Connect oil outlet hose (7) from the flow control valve to the supplemental steering pump.5. Connect two electrical cables (5) and (8) to the terminals on the supplemental steering pump motor.6. Connect cables to the batteries (not shown).7. Fill the steering system hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual.
