Remove Cushion Hitch Selector Valve
1. Put alignment marks on lever (3) and the shaft for correct installation.2. Loosen bolt (2) and remove lever (3) from the shaft.3. Remove three screws (4) and cover (1) from the cab. 4. Remove bolts (5) and move cover (6) away from the cab. 5. Remove bolt (9) and disconnect linkage (10) from cushion hitch selector valve (7).6. Remove two bolts (8) that hold cushion hitch selector control valve (7) to the cover. Remove the cover from the cab. 7. Put alignment marks on the shaft of the cushion hitch selector control valve and lever (13) for correct assembly. Loosen the bolt and remove lever (13) from the shaft.
To prevent possible personal injury make sure all the pressure from the hydraulic system is released before any lines are disconnected.
8. Put identification marks on hoses (11) and (12) and disconnect them from cushion hitch hydraulic control valve (7). Remove cushion hitch hydraulic control valve (7) from the cab. There will be an additional hose connected to the cushion hitch selector control valve for the 657E with a front bail.Install Cushion Hitch Hydraulic Control Valve
1. Put cushion hitch hydraulic control valve (4) in position in the cab and connect hoses (1) and (2) as shown. The 657E with a front bail has one additional hose.2. Install lever (3) in its original location on the shaft of cushion hitch selector control valve (4). 3. Install cover (5) on cushion hitch selector control valve (4).4. Connect linkage (6) to lever (3). 5. Fasten cover (5) to the cab with bolts (7). 6. Install cover (8) in the cab.7. Put lever (9) in position on the shaft in its original location and tighten the bolts that hold it.Disassemble Cushion Hitch Selector Valve
START BY:a) remove cushion hitch selector valve 1. Remove bolts (1) and (2), cover (3) and the piston from the valve. 2. Remove bolts (4) and housing (5) from the valve. Remove the cap from the spring retainer. 3. Remove bolt (socket head) (7), retainer (8) and the spring from the valve spool. Remove O-ring seal (6) from the valve body. 4. Remove plug (9) from the end of the valve. Remove cover (10) from the side of the valve. 5. Remove bolt (11) from the lever and key (12) from the shaft. 6. Put the selector valve in a vise. Use a soft hammer to push shaft (14) and bearing (13) out of the valve body. Remove lever (15) from the valve body after shaft (14) is removed. 7. Use tooling (A) to remove seal (16) and bearing (17) from the valve body. 8. Remove plug assemblies (detents) (18) and valve spool (19) from the valve body.
