MID 039 - Machine Control Machine CID 3730 - Autonomous Stop Mode Indicator FMI 06 - Current Above Normal
Illustration 1 g03177815This diagnostic code is recorded when the Input/Output module (I/O module) reads the current of the autonomous stop mode indicator (A-Stop mode indicator) circuit is above normal.Test Step 1. CHECK THE INDICATORS USING A KNOWN GOOD INDICATOR.Note: Use this procedure if only one of the three red indicators are not working when the keyswitch is cycled. If two or more indicators are not working, proceed to the next Step.
Turn the keyswitch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Swap the indicator suspected to be bad with a known good indicator.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position. While the swapped indicator is in view, turn the keyswitch to the ON position. Expected Result:The new indicator is cycled on with the turn of the keyswitch. Results:
OK - The new indicator lights up with the turn of the keyswitch. The old indicator light failed in some way.Repair: With the new indicator installed, check the status of the diagnostic code. If the code is no longer active, the old indicator light was fault and the new indicator light is working properly.STOP
NOT OK - The new indicator does not illuminate with the turn of the keyswitch.Repair: The problem is not with the indicators. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND.
The keyswitch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the indicator lights.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 from the I/O module.
At machine harness connector J1, measure the resistance from the signal contact J1-61 (wire A661-BU(Blue)) to all possible sources of ground. The possible grounds are contacts: contact J1-13, J1-23, J1-26, J1-27, J1-28, J1-32, J1-45, J1-48, J1-50, andJ1-56. Measure resistance to frame, cabinet, and chassis grounds. Note the resistances. Expected Result:The resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms for each measurement. Results:
OK - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to test step 3.
NOT OK - The resistance is NOT correct. There is a short in the machine harness. The short is between wire A661-BU(Blue) and the wire or ground for the contact with the incorrect resistance.Repair: Repair the harness or replace the harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS.
Inspect the contacts and clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the disconnect switch and the keyswitch to the ON position.
Clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Cycle the keyswitch position from ON to OFF to ON again and allow the machine electronic system time for the self check. The check will power the lights for 2 seconds.
Observe the status of CID 3730 FMI 06. Expected Result:The CID 3730 FMI 06 for the indicator is NOT present. Results:
OK - The diagnostic code is NOT present. The diagnostic code does not exist at this time. The initial diagnostic code was probably caused by a poor electrical connection or a short at one of the harness connectors
