ACTION REQUIRED
Tighten the bolts to the proper torque in the following four locations:
1) The bolts that connect the inlet screen housing to the main case
2) The bolts that connect the inlet tube to the power train oil pump
3) The bolts that connect the power train oil pump to the main case
4) The nuts on studs that connect the power train oil pump to the case
Refer to the images below for the locations of these bolts for each machine model type.
The torque for all of these M12 bolts is 100 +/- 20 Nm.
The torque for all of these half inch bolts is 105 +/- 20 Nm.
The torque for all of these M10 nuts is 55 +/- 10 Nm.
The torque for all of these 3/8 inch nuts is 47 +/- 9 Nm.

Several bolts involving the power train oil pump system need to be re-tightened on the products listed below. If not tightened properly, these loose bolts can cause leaks and possible power train oil pump failures. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 20Feb2009 when scheduling this service.
