1. Install the gusset plates per Special Instructions REHS7149 "Installing Plates to Reduce Stress Concentration on the Axle on Certain 24H and 24M Motor Graders".
2. Inspect axle area for cracks. See Image 1 If cracks are in the noted area follow Special Instructions REHS7145 "Rework Procedure to Repair the Groove Weld in Axle Assembly for Certain Motor Graders" to repair main axle.
