(B)         M20x2.5x458mm (18 inch) Threaded Rod     2    Note: The procedure to install the right hand travel motor and the procedure to install the left hand travel motor is identical. The procedure that follows is for one of the travel motors.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the travel motor and the final drive.

Replace the O-ring seal (6) that is used between the travel motor and the final drive.
Install O-ring seal (6) in the final drive. Apply clean hydraulic oil on the O-ring seal.
Install coupling (7) .

Carefully push travel motor (5) onto Tooling (B), as shown.

Remove two bolts from the head of travel motor (5) in order to install Tooling (A) .
Reposition the hoist and two lifting straps onto Tooling (A), as shown.
Slide the travel motor into the final drive.
Install bolt (4) and remove Tooling (B) .
Remove Tooling (A) and install the two bolts back into the head of the travel motor.

Install three bolts (3) that secure the travel motor to the final drive.

Remove the plugs from the ends of hose assemblies (1) and (2) .
Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) to the travel motor.
To avoid system damage, make sure that the hydraulic motor is properly filled with hydraulic oil before start-up.
Fill the final drive with hydraulic oil to the correct level.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the proper oil viscosity.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for the correct amount.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Oil Level - Check" for the correct filling procedure.
Install high efficiency filters in place of the pilot filter, case drain filter, and the return filter.Note: High efficiency filters should not be run for more than 250 hours before you change back to the standard filters.
Obtain a hydraulic oil sample from the main S O S port.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Sampling Interval and Location of Sampling Valve" for the correct location.
If the S O S sample exceeds ISO 18/15, flush the hydraulic system.End By: Install the travel brake valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Travel Brake Valve - Install" in this manual.
