Information:
2. Place the left side sensor feeler rod (18) in the reference rod (19).3. Set elevation automatic mode selectors as follows:* Left sensor/right sensor automatic lever (12) - LEFT SENSOR* Right sensor/cross slope automatic lever (13) - CROSS SLOPE* Right sensor selectors (16) - RIGHT REAR LEG* Cross slope selectors (17) - RIGHT REAR LEG This is only one of the common ways to operate the machine using elevation sensor control of the legs. Other arrangements are possible depending on how the machine is equipped.4. Set cross slope indicator (14) to the desired cross slope with cross slope hand wheel (15).5. Adjust the front elevation sensor (mounted on the left side of the machine) so that the rotor bits are just touching grade. It will also be necessary to use left rear elevation control lever (1) to keep the mainframe level.6. Adjust the steering indicator position and set the left rear leg elevation scale to 0 (zero) or other selected reading.
Set the engine at low idle if possible, but not to exceed 1200 rpm in any case, before engaging the rotor.
7. Use conveyor swing control lever (4) and conveyor elevation control lever (5) to position the second stage conveyor discharge end.8. Move rotor switch (10) to ON.9. Move spray bar switch (11) and conveyor control lever (6) to ON.10. Move engine throttle lever (9) all the way forward.11. Move parking brake lever (7) to OFF. Move travel lever (8) forward to provide a slow travel speed.12. As the machine starts forward, slowly crank the left elevation sensor up until the desired depth of cut is reached. The depth of cut will gradually increase and will stabilize after the left rear track is travelling on cut grade.13. After the machine has traveled forward about two machine lengths, stop the machine and turn the spray bar and conveyor off. Check the grade being cut and make any necessary adjustments.14. If it is necessary to correct the grade already cut:* Move elevation mode selectors (12) and (13) to OFF.* Raise the mainframe with elevation control levers (1), (2) and (3).* Back to the starting point and start the operation again.Start Operation Using Cross Slope Control of Left Rear Leg - Mode 3
When cross slope control is transferred to the left rear leg, the right rear leg is locked to grade. To provide an accurate and true cut, the grade that the right leg rides on must be accurate and true. The cross slope system will not function properly at machine speeds above approximately 9-10.5 meters per minute (30-35 fpm). 1. Position the machine at the starting point. Use elevations control levers (1), (2) and (3) to lower the mainframe evenly until the rotor is just above grade and the mainframe is level. 2. Place right side sensor feeler rod (18) in reference rod (19).3. Set elevation automatic mode selection as follows:* Left sensor/right sensor automatic lever (12) - RIGHT SENSOR* Right sensor/cross slope automatic lever (13) - CROSS SLOPE* Right sensor selectors
