Low Engine Load
Running the engine at load levels below 25 percent of the rated engine load may cause low temperatures at the inlet of the catalytic converter. The efficiency of the catalytic converter will also be adversely affected.Increase the engine load to generate an increase in the exhaust temperature in order to ensure that the engine emissions are within specifications.Excessive Engine Idling
Excessive engine idling may cause low temperatures at the inlet of the catalytic converter. The efficiency of the catalytic converter will also be adversely affected.Avoid excessive idling to generate an increase in the exhaust temperature in order to ensure that the engine emissions are within specifications.Excessive Catalytic Convertor Set-back Distance
If the catalytic convertor is installed too far from the engine, the engine exhaust will be allowed to cool before entering the catalytic convertor. The heat energy from the exhaust is used by the catalyst during the conversion process. Verify the correct installation of the catalytic convertor. Refer to the A&I Guide for your engine, or refer to Special Instruction, REHS7128-00 , "Catalyst Installation General Requirements for G3300B Natural Gas Engine" for installation requirements.
