Information:


To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all the pressure in the steering system is released before any hoses are disconnected.
1. Drain the oil from the steering system hydraulic tank.2. Remove bolts (1) to remove shield (2) from around the flow control valve. 3. Disconnect hoses (3) and (4). 4. Disconnect wire (6) at the connector.5. Disconnect hoses (5), (7) and (8).6. Remove the bolts that hold the flow control valve to the frame. Remove flow control valve (9).Install Flow Control Valve (Steering)
1. Put flow control valve (5) in position on the frame, and install the bolts that hold it.2. Connect hoses (1), (2) and (3).3. Connect wire (4). 4. Connect hoses (6) and (7). 5. Install shield (8) over the flow control valve with the bolts that hold it.6. Fill the steering system hydraulic tank with oil to the correct capacity. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual.Disassemble Flow Control Valve (Steering)
Start By:a. remove flow control valve (steering) 1. Remove bodies (2) and (3) from body (1). 2. Remove spring (4), valve (5) and O-ring seal (6) from body (3). 3. Remove valve (7), spring (8), O-ring seal (10) and switch (9) from body (2). 4. Remove valve group (11) from body (1). 5. Disassemble the check valve as follows:a. Remove O-ring seal (12) from body (13).b. Remove plug (17), spring (15) and valve (14) from body (13).c. Remove O-ring seal (16) from plug (17). 6. Remove orifice (19) from body (1).7. Remove relief valve (18) from body (1). Remove the O-ring seal from the body. 8. Disassemble the relief valve as follows:a. Remove O-ring seals (21) from body (20).b. Remove body (24) from body (20). Remove valve (22), spring (23) and spacer (27) from body (24). Remove O-ring seal (28).c. Remove plug (26) from body (24), and remove O-ring seal (29) from it. Remove plunger (25) from body (24). d. Remove seat (32), spring (31) and plunger (30) from body (20) with a hammer and punch. Remove the spacer from the body.Assemble Flow Control Valve (Steering)
1. Assemble the relief valve as follows:a. Install the spacer in body (1). Put plunger (2), spring (3) and seat (4) in position in body (1). b. Put O-ring (11), spacer (8), spring (7) and valve (6) in position in body (9). Install body (9) in body (1).c. Install O-ring seals (5) on body (1).d. Install plunger (10) in body (9).e. Put O-ring seal (12) in position on plug (13), and install plug (13) in body (9).f. Check the adjustment of the relief valve. See Testing And Adjusting, Form SENR5642, for further information. 2. Align the holes in orifice (15) with the cross holes in body (16). Install the orifice in the body.3. Put seal (17) in position in the groove of body (16). Install relief valve (14) in body (16). 4. Assemble the check valve as follows:a. Put O-ring seal (22) in position on plug (21).b. Put valve (19) and spring (20) in position in body (18).c. Install plug (21) in
