The Integrated Temperature Sensing Module (ITSM) detects a short circuit to the +Battery side for the input from the thermocouple of the cylinder.System Response:Monitoring of the exhaust temperature for the cylinder is lost. Also, protection for the cylinder is lost.The thermocouple is removed from the calculation for the average temperature of the engine.The code is logged. The "Status" screen of the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) displays "Open/Shorted High" for the cylinder.The diagnostic code remains active until the condition that caused the code is not present for 30 seconds.Possible Performance Effect:Engine operation is not affected.Troubleshooting:Test Step 1.
