Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting".The correct speed of the auger is 51 revolutions per minute (RPM). 51 RPM provides the auger with the right combination of torque and speed in order to properly load most materials into the scraper bowl.If the auger is turning faster than 51 RPM, the auger may not have enough torque in order to properly load the material into the scraper bowl.If the auger rotates less than 51 RPM, the auger may not have enough speed. This can cause incorrect loading of the material into the scraper bowl.

The 9U-5140 Photo Pickup (1) is also used in order to adjust the speed of the auger. Install two strips of tape (3) to the bottom of auger drive gearbox (2) .

(4) Auger control
Run the engine at high idle. Turn auger control (4) to the ON position.

(5) Adjustment screw for the auger RPM
Turn adjustment screw (5) clockwise in order to decrease the speed of the auger. Turn adjustment screw (5) counterclockwise in order to increase the speed of the auger.
