Install bolts (8) that secure support assembly (11) to the rotating housing. Remove Tooling (G) from the rotating housing.

Install springs (10) to the support assembly.

Install bearing race (9) to the support assembly.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install the remaining bolts (8) that secure bearing race (9) to the support assembly. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 80 10 N m (60 7 lb ft).

Attach a suitable lifting device to the rotating housing. Position the rotating housing, as shown.

Place the torque converter on suitable cribbing or a fixture, as shown. Make sure that bolts (3) or the cribbing supports the bottom of the housing.

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to the rotating housing. Position the rotating housing to the housing assembly. The weight of the rotating housing is approximately 70 kg (154 lb). Remove Tooling (H) and the suitable lifting device from the rotating housing.

Remove Tooling (F) from the housing.

Install spring washer (7) and retainer plate (6) to the housing. Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 240 25 N m (177 18 lb ft).

Position pilot assembly (4) to the housing. Install bolts (2) that secure pilot assembly (4) to the housing.
Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to the housing. Position the torque converter, as shown. Remove Tooling (C) and the suitable lifting device from the torque converter.

Install the remaining two bolts (2) and the washers that secure the pilot assembly to the housing. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 120 15 N m (89 11 lb ft).

Install bolts (1) and the washers that secure the housing assembly and the housing together. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 120 15 N m (89 11 lb ft).End By: Install the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter - Install".
