HOOK 2B5880 - Caterpillar

1. Remove rubber baffle (1) at the base of the boom. 2. Remove cover (2). 3. Remove cover (3) at the base of the boom. Picture B37491X1 was taken from the back side of the swivel with the swing drive removed. 4. Put identification on all oil lines and hoses. Put caps or plugs on the lines and hoses to keep dirt out. Disconnect pilot oil line (4), case drain oil line (5) and four pressure oil lines (7) from the swivel.5. Remove two bolts (6) that hold the bar to the swivel. 6. Loosen two bolts (8), slide bolts (8) and the bar toward the center of the large guard and lower guard (9) on its hinges. Use two people to remove guard (9). Weight is approximately 45 kg (100 lb.).7. Put tooling (A) in position under large guard (11). Loosen all the bolts (10) in the guard and slide the bolts and bars toward the center of guard (11). Lower guard (11) and remove. Weight is approximately 207 kg (460 lb.). 8. Disconnect high pressure oil lines (13) and (14) from each side of the swivel.9. Disconnect case drain line (15) and pilot oil line (12) for the parking brakes.10. Put tooling (A) in position under the swivel. 11. Remove eight bolts (16) that hold the swivel group to the frame.12. Lower swivel group (17) and remove it from under the machine. Weight is approximately 68 kg (150 lb.).Install Swivel Group
1. Use tooling (A) to put swivel group (3) in position on the frame. Install eight bolts (2) that hold the swivel in place. Weight of the swivel group is approximately 68 kg (150 lb.).2. Connect case drain oil line (4) and pilot oil line (1) for the parking brakes to the swivel group. 3. Connect high pressure oil lines (5) and (6), for the track motors, to each side of the swivel in their original positions. 4. Use tooling (A) to put large guard (9) in position under the machine. Weight is approximately 207 kg (460 lb.). Slide bolts (10) out to engage the bars behind the frame to hold guard (9) in place. Tighten all bolts (10) in the large guard.5. Use two people to put small guard (8) in position on the large guard. Slide bolts (7) out to engage the bar behind the frame. Tighten bolts (7). 6. Install two bolts (13) to hold the top of the swivel group to the bar.7. Connect four high pressure oil lines (14) to the swivel group in their original positions.8. Connect pilot oil line (11) and case drain oil line (12) to the swivel. 9. Put cover (15) in position at the base of the boom and install the bolts that hold it in place. 10. Put cover (16) in position and install the bolts that hold it in place. 11. Put rubber baffle (17) in position and install the strips and bolts that hold it in place.Disassemble Swivel Group
