Which Generate This Code:The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following condition:
Atmospheric pressure that is too lowSystem Response:The ECM will log the diagnostic event. The engine may be derated to a maximum of 15 percent of full power.
Low power
The engine is being operated at an altitude that is too high.
There may be a problem with the atmospheric pressure sensor.Test Step 1. Check for Diagnostic Codes
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
Check for any active diagnostic codes and/or logged diagnostic codes.Expected Result:No diagnostic codes are present.Results:
OK - The engine is still derated.Repair: The engine is being operated at an altitude that is too high. Stop.
Not OK - Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are present. Refer to the appropriate topic in the "Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code" section of this manual.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
