Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to differential and bevel gear (15). The weight of differential and bevel gear (15) is approximately 750 kg (1653 lb).Note: Bolts (14) can be used as forcing bolts in the following step.
Install two of bolts (14) in the threaded holes of differential and bevel gear (15). Tighten the bolts evenly to separate differential and bevel gear (15) from the axle housing. Remove differential and bevel gear (15).

Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the differential and bevel gear and of the axle housing. Replace O-ring seals with the new parts.

Install O-ring seal (16) on differential and bevel gear (15).

Install bolts (14). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 750 90 N m (553 66 lb ft).

Install temperature sensor assembly (12) and bracket assembly (13).

Position bracket (10) and all the tubes as one unit.
Install bolts (8). Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 750 90 N m (553 66 lb ft).
Connect tube assemblies (9) to each service brake unit.
Connect angle clips (9).

Install guard assemblies (6) and (7).

Install O-ring seal (5) and pin (4).

Install cover (3) without shim. Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) enough to remove the end play between the pin and cover (3).
Use Tooling (B) to measure the gap between cover (3) and the axle housing. Record the measurement. Use the measurement to determine the correct thickness of required shims.
Install a thickness of shims that will establish a −0.03 mm (−0.001 inch) preload to a 0.03 mm (0.001 inch) end play in the pin.

Install cover (3) with the measured number of shims (2). Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
End by:a. Install the Axle Shaft.b. Install the Fixed Axle (Front).
