Limiting Materials Available
The office can limit the materials that are available for selection as overrides when in Material Design mode as follows:
All materials listed (default)
Material Grade files that are "Prime"
Material Grade files that have become "Prime" and the materials listed in the machine configuration file
Materials listed in the machine configuration fileWhen a primary Material Grade file is changed, the "Material Selection" dialog is not changed unless the operator selects a different list or closes and then opens a dialog. The material toolbars are not updated until the current truck is sent.Material Cannot be Identified
At times, when in Material Design mode, the on-board software cannot identify the material, such as when the machine is outside of the material design. To be able to select a material ID for material that the software cannot recognize, ask the Terrain Site Champion about the following options:
Make the "Material Selection" dialog appear if the material in a bucket cannot be identified by the on-board software. The "Material Selection" dialog allows you to select a material identity.
Make an optional annunciator, if equipped, sound while the "Material Selection" dialog is open.Materials Toolbars
Materials toolbars provide immediate access to override the materials that are automatically identified by Terrain. Select a material from the materials toolbar at any time before pressing "Send Truck".In Material Design mode, there are three types of Materials toolbars available:
"Fixed Materials"
"Recent Overrides"
"Recent Materials"The materials that are available on a "Fixed Materials" toolbar always remain the same. The "Recent Overrides" toolbar is populated in historical order as the operator applies overrides. The material in the left-most position in the toolbar is the most recently used override. When the software shuts down, the toolbar clears. The "Recent Materials" toolbar is populated with the materials that are identified for the most recent loads. The toolbar is populated in historical order as the trucks are sent. The material in the left-most position in the toolbar is the most recently identified material. The software saves the toolbar over shutdown. If the operator changes the Material Grade design file, the old material overrides remain for a toolbar that is configured as either of the following:

Use the Material Modifier buttons to report extra characteristics about the material in a load. For example, identify a load as containing materials that are oversized.A maximum of eight modifiers may be configured. Both a bitmap and a name can be specified for each modifier and the modifiers can be added to Material toolbars.
