Carefully reposition hose assemblies (8) through heel (2) as stick (1) is being raised away from heel (2). Remove shims (9) (not shown). The weight of heel (2) is approximately 517 kg (1140 lb).Installation Procedure

Position heel (2) under stick (1). The weight of heel (2) is approximately 517 kg (1140 lb).
Apply Tooling (A) to the bearings in the pin bore for heel (2). Apply Tooling (A) to the pin bore for stick (1) and to the pin bore for the heel cylinder.
Lower stick (1) into heel (2). Carefully position hose assemblies (8) through heel (2) as stick (1) is being lowered.

Apply Tooling (A) to pin assembly (7).
Use a suitable hammer and a suitable punch to install pin assembly (7) into the heel and the stick.

Measure the total lateral clearance between the heel and the stick at the pin bore.
The total lateral clearance of Dimension (a) plus Dimension (b) cannot be more than 1.6 mm (0.06 inch).
If the total clearance is less than 1.6 mm (0.06 inch), the addition of shims between the heel and the stick will not be required. Proceed to Step 13.
If the total clearance is more than 1.6 mm (0.06 inch), add the correct shims to obtain the necessary clearance. Proceed to Step 10.
Use the following table to determine the correct shims .

If shims need to be installed, use a suitable hammer and a suitable punch to remove pin assembly (7).
Install the shims at the pin bores between the heel and the stick on the same side as the pin retaining bolt as shown in Illustration 8.
Use a suitable hammer and a suitable punch to reinstall pin assembly (7).

Apply Tooling (A) to the pin assembly that holds heel cylinder (5) to heel (2).
Lower heel cylinder (5) until the pin bore in the rod is in alignment with the pin bore in heel (2). Extend the cylinder rod or retract the cylinder rod to align the pin bores.

Use a suitable hammer and a suitable punch to install pin assembly (4) into the pin bores.
