(3) Bypass relief valve Filter element (2) in pilot oil filter (1) removes contaminants from the pilot oil.When the flow of pilot oil through filter element (2) becomes restricted by contaminants, the oil bypasses filter element (2) through bypass relief valve (3). When the pilot oil is cold, the oil bypasses filter element (2) through bypass relief valve (3). Bypass relief valve (3) is built into the base for the pilot oil filter.
