Introduction
Use the following procedures whenever the governor motor is replaced or when you need to adjust the accelerator cable.Calibration Procedure for the Governor Motor
The accelerator cable is a part of the governor motor assembly. When you install a new governor motor assembly, do not activate the governor motor by turning the engine speed dial until the governor motor assembly is installed and the accelerator cable is correctly installed at the engine. If the governor motor is not installed and you activate the governor motor, you will need to recalibrate the motor to the initial setting. If the accelerator cable was disconnected from the governor motor for a readjustment, you will need to recalibrate the governor motor to the initial setting. Use the following procedure to recalibrate the governor motor.
Turn the engine start switch to the ON position.
Turn the engine speed dial to the HIGH IDLE position.
Ensure that the low idle indicator goes off.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Perform the adjustment procedure for the accelerator cable. Refer to ""Adjustment Procedure for the Accelerator Cable"".Adjustment Procedure for the Accelerator Cable
Use the following procedure after you replace the governor motor or when you need to readjust the accelerator cable.
