(A) Fuel tank return line
(D1) 500 mm (19.7 inch).
Remove the 3K-8460 Plug on the top of the fuel water separator.
Cut the fuel tank return line (A) to a length 500.0 mm (19.69 inch) (D1) from the tank as shown in Illustration 1.
Install Tee (5) between the return lines by using the hose clamps (2).
Install elbow assembly (3) and check valve assembly (4) in to the top of the fuel water separator housing. Tighten the check valve assembly (4) to 15.0 2.5 N m (132.8 22.2 lb in). Tighten the elbow assembly (3) to 30 5 N m (266 44 lb in).Note: The fuel water separator base is made of aluminum. Care must be taken not to strip the threads in the housing when installing the elbow assembly (3) and check valve assembly (4). Use a back-up wrench on the check valve assembly (4) while applying the higher torque on the elbow assembly (3).
Cut the 5P-1507 Hose approximately to 305.0 mm (12.01 inch).Note: To ensure the best fit, measure the distance between Tee (5) in the return line and the elbow assembly (3) in the fuel filter housing.
Connect the 305.0 mm (12.01 inch) 5P-1507 Hose with the Tee (5) in the return line and Elbow Assembly (3) on the fuel water separator housing.
