Installation Procedure
Cooling system coolant additive contains alkali. To help prevent personal injury, avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Do not drink cooling system coolant additive.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Use a nylon lifting strap and a suitable lifting device to aid in installing fan (3). The weight of the fan is 54 kg (120 lb).

Place a nylon lifting strap (9) and a suitable lifting device to fan drive (5). The weight of the fan drive is 45 kg (100 lb). Reposition fan drive (5) .

Install fitting (8). Install fan drive (5) .

Install four bolts (7) in order to secure fan drive (5) .

Install a nylon lifting strap to fan (3) and use a suitable lifting device in order to aid in the installation of the fan (3) .
Reposition fan (3) against adapter (4) .
Install six bolts (6) in order to secure adapter (4) to fan drive (5) .

Install two hose assemblies (1) to coolant tank (2) .
Add the extended life coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".End By: Install the fan guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Guard - Remove and Install".
