Flash the PL300 Product Link ECM with 384-6463 Software at the earliest opportunity to prevent further over reporting.
Note: Always use the latest version of Caterpillar Electronic Technician for the best machine software support
1. Download the 384-6463 Software from SIS Web.
Note: Go to SIS Web to make sure that the new flash file part number is still the latest flash file part number. A newer flash file part number may be available.
2. Flash the 239-9954 or 285-1133 PL300 ECM with the 384-6463 Software. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS2365, or Testing and Adjusting, RENR7911 for appropriate procedures on flashing the software.
Note: Before using Communications Adapter 3 (CA3), make sure that the PC drivers and CA3 firmware have been updated. CA3 news, drivers, and firmware are available at https://dealer.cat.com/.
3. After flashing the new software, adjust the internal ProductLink clock to agree with the machine Service Meter Hours as indicated on the hour meter.
4. Flashing the PL300 will automatically cause a registration message and an administration message to be queued.
Please refer to the Warranty Bulletin in your subsidiary for instruction on how to file a claim against Machine Control and Guidance Products.
