4. Remove lever (1), rod assembly (2) and bellcrank (5).5. Remove sixteen nuts (3). Remove cover assembly (4). 6. Remove ring (7). Slide tube (8) into the housing until it is out of the transmission hydraulic controls.7. Remove five six point head bolts (6). Remove the transmission hydraulic controls. 8. Remove tube (8) from the transmission housing. Remove seals (9) from the transmission.Install Transmission Hydraulic Controls
1. Install seals (1) in the transmission. Install tube (2) in the transmission housing. 2. Put the transmission hydraulic controls in position in the transmission. Make sure links (3) are in position on the correct pins as shown. 3. Install five six point head bolts (4). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 35 3 lb. ft. (47.5 4.1 N m). 4. Install cover (6) on the transmission with sixteen nuts. Install lever (5), rod assembly (7) and bellcrank (8). See INSTALL TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER for Steps 5 to 8.5. start by:a) remove transmission hydraulic controls 1. Remove sixteen bolts (1). Remove pressure control group (2), manifold (3), selector valve group (4) and plate (5) from manifold (6). 2. Remove two bolts (7) and cover (8) from each end of the pressure control group. 3. Remove stop (9) and piston (10) from the pressure control group. 4. Remove stop (12) and plunger (11) from the pressure control group. 5. Remove stop (13), plunger (14) and spring (15). Remove dowel (16). Remove the retainer from inside the body. 6. Remove slug (20), valve spool assembly (17), spacers (18) and spring (19) from the body. Remove the ring, retainer, spring and plunger from the spool assembly. Put identification on the spacers for use at assembly. 7. Remove valve spools (21) and (22). Remove nut (23) and link (24) from each spool. 8. Remove plug (31), spring (30), shims (29) and valve spool (28). Remove dowel (27). Remove the stop from the inside of the body. Put identification on the shims for use at assembly.9. Put spring (26) under compression. Remove the ring and stop (32) from the stem assembly. Remove the spring, valve (25), stem assembly and spacer. Remove the plug, spring and ball from the stem assembly.Assemble Transmission Hydraulic Controls
1. Install the ball, spring and plug in stem assembly (4). Install the stem assembly, valve (1), spring (2) and spacer on the selector valve group. Put spring (2) under compression. Install stop (3) and the ring on the stem assembly.2. Install the stop in the body. Install dowel (5) to hold the stop in position. The top of the dowel must be even with the surface of the body. 3. Install spool (6), shims (7), spring (8) and plug (9). 4. Install two valve spools (10) in the selector valve group as shown. 5.
