Change Oil and Filter
1. Drain port (1) can be used to install an oil drain hose to avoid splashing oil. Open drain valve (2) to allow the oil to drain.2. After all of the oil has drained, close the drain valve and remove the hose. 3. Remove and discard the crankcase oil filter element. Make sure all of the old filter seal is removed from the filter base.4. Apply a thin coat of oil to the seal on the new filter.5. Install the filter by hand until the filter contacts the base. Tighten 3/4 turn more. There are rotation index marks on each new filter spaced 90° apart, to be used as a guide for tightening. 6. Remove cap (3) to add the oil. See "Lubricant Viscosities & Refill Capacities."7. Always measure the oil with the dipstick (4) to make certain the quantity of oil added is correct.8. Maintain the oil between the marks on the dipstick.Clean Crankcase Breather
1. Loosen the breather outlet hose clamp and remove the hose from the breather cover.2. Remove the breather.3. Check the condition of cover seal. Replace with new seal if the used one is damaged.4. Wash the element and cover assembly in clean, nonflammable solvent.5. Shake, or use pressure air - 205 kPa (30 psi) maximum, to dry the element.6. Install the clean breather element cover assembly.7. Install the hose and clamp.Cooling System
Add Coolant Additive
Do not add coolant additive until you have read and understand the material in the "Cooling System Specifications" section.
1. Pull handle to release radiator guard.2. Tilt radiator guard forward. 3. Remove the cap slowly to relieve pressure.4. Add .25 liters (1/2 pint) of liquid coolant additive.5. Install fill cap.6. Close radiator guard.Alternator, Fan and Air Conditioner Belts
Inspect - Adjust
1. Inspect the condition and adjustment of the belts. If the belts are damaged, replace them in sets. 2. Measure the deflection of the belt. Apply approximately 110 N (25 lb) force midway between the pulleys.Deflection should be 14 to 20 mm (9/16 to 13/16 inch).3. Adjust the belt if the deflection is not correct.Fan and Alternator Belts
1. Loosen mounting bolt (1).2. Adjust nuts (2) and (3) as necessary to loosen or tighten belts.3. Tighten the mounting bolt.4. Measure the belt deflection. If deflection is not correct, repeat the adjustment procedure.Air Conditioning Belt
1. Loosen the mounting bolt (4).2. Loosen strap bolt (5).3. Move the compressor, to obtain the required belt deflection.4. Tighten strap bolt and the mounting bolt.5. Measure the belt deflection. If deflection is not correct, repeat the adjustment procedure.Fuel Tanks
Clean Fill Caps
1. Remove the cap. 2. Remove the outer covering by rolling back as shown, then continuing until the covering is inside out. 3. Remove the filter (1).4. Wash all parts with soap and water and allow to dry. 5. Install the filter.6. Align the grooves (2) in the covering with the
