Information:
At operating temperature, hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the breather filter cap only when the engine is stopped and the breather filter cap is cool enough to touch. Slowly loosen the breather filter cap to release any pressure in the hoist, torque converter and brake hydraulic tank. Be cautious of hot hydraulic oil when any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
1. Put a suitable container in position under brake makeup oil tank (1) to contain the oil for storage or disposal. Slowly loosen two hose assemblies (2) to release any pressure from brake makeup oil tank (1). Drain the oil from brake makeup oil tank (1) in the suitable container. The capacity of the brake makeup oil tank is approximately 4 liters (1.05 U.S. gal).2. Mark and identify two hose assemblies (2) for installation purposes. Disconnect two hose assemblies (2) connected to the bottom of brake makeup oil tank (1). Cap and plug all connections to prevent oil loss. For photographic reasons the air reservoir cover has been removed.3. Mark and identify two hose assemblies (3) and (5) for installation purposes. Disconnect two hose assemblies (3) and (5) connected to brake makeup oil tank (1). Cap and plug all connections to prevent oil loss.4. Remove two nuts and bolts (6) and the washers. Remove brake makeup oil tank (1) from the mounting plate.5. Remove cover (4), and check the O-ring seal (not shown) for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. The following steps are for installation of the brake makeup oil tank. 6. Lubricate the O-ring seal (not shown) slightly with oil from the brake system. Install cover (4) on brake makeup oil tank (1). Tighten cover (4) to a torque of 40 4 N m (30 3 lb ft).7. Put brake makeup oil tank (1) in position on the mounting plate. Install two nuts and bolts (6) and the washers.8. Connect two hoses assemblies (3) and (5) to makeup oil tank (1). 9. Connect two hose assemblies (2) to the bottom of brake makeup oil tank (1). Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for all fluid capacities and the proper filling procedures.10. Remove (bleed) the air from the brake system. Refer to the topic "Removing Air from Hydraulic Brake System," in the Systems Operation Testing & Adjusting, Air Systems & Brake module, SENR6917.End By:a. remove body retaining pins
