Information:
LM Switches
Know the specifications of the lifting magnet system. Check the switch operation procedure to avoid improper control.In the magnet mode, the lifting magnet system is activated and the manual low idle switch works as the Lift/Drop switch.When the magnet is "Alive" (during the operation from start of lift to completion of drop), LM tool control is activated to prevent engine speed down and the AEC & swing parking brake is disabled.The LM switches are activated when the circuit breaker in the LM power box is placed in the "ON" position and the discharge switch is in the "Operation" position.
When the magnet is "Alive", run the engine with the engine speed dial in the position of "9". Decreased engine speed may cause falling scrap and eventually could result in unexpected injury.
Switch Operation
Fields Switch (9)To activate the magnet mode, turn fields switch (9) to the "ON" position and the engine speed dial to the high speed position.To deactivate the magnet mode, turn fields switch (9) to the "OFF" position or the engine speed dial to the lowest speed position. Lift/Drop Switch (10)Lift/Drop switch (10) is located on the right knob. It works as the manual low idle switch with the magnet mode OFF and works as the Lift/Drop switch in the magnet mode.In the magnet mode, it switches operation between "Lift (rated lift after OE (over excitation))" and "Inactive after Drop", alternatively every time you push the switch.To life iron scrap, turn the engine speed dial to the position of "9" in the magnet mode, then push Lift/Drop switch (10). The magnet will perform OE (over excitation) for a few seconds, then will change automatically to rated lift in order to keep lifting the scrap.To drop the scrap, push Lift/Drop switch (10) again. The magnet will drop the scrap, then after a few seconds will change automatically to Inactive.Turn the engine speed dial to the position of "9" before Lift operation, and keep the dial in the position of "9" until completion of drop!Precautions for Operation
Avoid Cable Interference
During operation, interference may occur between the cable to the magnet and scrap and other objects. This could cause breakage or damage of the cable
Use caution to prevent the cable from being caught by scrap.Perform Inspection
Proper maintenance and inspection are required to ensure optimum performance and long life and to prevent possible injury and damage resulting from failure or damage of the system.
Be sure to perform daily inspection (inspection before operation and during operation) and periodic inspection. Refer to the Maintenance Section of this manual for information on inspection.Perform engine warm-up in freezing weather
When operating the machine in freezing weather (-20°C or below), perform engine warm-up to protect the electrical equipment and prevent malfunction.
