Operation
Personal injury or death can result from lifting a heavy component. The heavy component can fall if using an incorrect hoist and/or sling or fastener to lift the load.Be sure the hoist and other devices have the correct lifting capacity to lift a heavy component. The approximate weight of the heavy component is given below.
Failure to comply to the rated load can cause possible personal injury or attachment damage.Review the rated load of a particular attachment before performing any operation. Make adjustments to the rated load as necessary.
The 369-6017 Lifting Plate weighs 16 kg (37 lb).The 369-6017 Lifting Plate is to be used with the 142-6893 Adjustable Lifting Bracket Group .
Illustration 5 g03383222
Identify the load and weight of the machine component to be lifted. Do not exceed the Working Load Limit (WLL) of 907 kg (2000 lb).
Do not lift at any angle other than vertical as shown in the illustration.
Consider the center of gravity before removing machine component so shifting of tool does not occur.
Illustration 6 g03378078
Correct
Illustration 7 g03378084
Incorrect
To avoid injury do not stand on or between implement and machine while operating lift control.
Note: The WLL of the hoist or lifting device used for this step should be more than the weight of the machine component being lifted and all the tooling used to lift it.
Follow the information in the specific Disassembly and Assembly Service Manual for the machine component to be lifted. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly for D6R Series II Track-Type Tractor Power Train, RENR4271-03 for instructions on removing the transmission.
Tighten all bolts to standard torque.Inspection and Maintenance Section
Inspection
Inspect Equipment - Inspect tool prior to each use for nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bent, or worn parts. If damage is found, discontinue use, destroy the tool, and depose of as scrap.
Working Load Limit (WLL) mark - Do not use lifting device unless load identification (WLL) markings are legible.
Safety Alert - Do not use lifting device if mounting hole or lifting holes are elongated or deformed. Have the tool inspected annually by an approved dealership inspector.Cleaning
Clean the tool using nonsolvent based cleaners.Storage
Store the tooling in a clean, dry location to prevent rust or corrosion. Tooling can be damaged by moisture or high humidity.
The tool should be stored in the most stable position. Store the tool laying flat or hanging from appropriate hooks to prevent falling.Tool Disposal
At the end of the operational life of the tool, destroy the tool and dispose of as scrap.Additional Contact Information
