Remove the boom.

Remove lip seal (1).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove sleeve bearing (2) (not shown).
Repeat Steps 1 through 2 to remove the lip seal and the sleeve bearing from the other side of the boom.Installation Procedure

D 452-6006 Grease 1 Note: Make sure that the bores for the sleeve bearings are free of paint and of grease prior to the installation of the sleeve bearings.
Coat the sleeve bearing and the bearing bore with Tooling (D) prior to the installation of the sleeve bearing in the bore.Note: Make sure that the sleeve bearings are installed in the bore so that the identification numbers of the sleeve bearings are facing outward.

Lower the temperature of sleeve bearing (2). Use Tooling (B) to install sleeve bearing (2) in the pin bore at the foot of the boom. Install sleeve bearing (2) until Dimension (W) is 9.5 0.8 mm (0.37 0.03 inch).

Use Tooling (C) to install lip seal (1) with the sealing lip toward the outside of the boom. Install lip seal (1) until lip seal (1) makes contact with sleeve bearing (2).Note: Apply a thin layer of Tooling (D) to lip seal (1) prior to installation.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 to install the sleeve bearing and the lip seal on the other side of the boom.End By:
Install the boom.
