Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Remove studs (1), bolts (2), exhaust manifolds (3), and gaskets (4) .Installation Procedure

Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) to the male ends of exhaust manifold (3). Assemble exhaust manifold (3) and remove the excess sealant from the joints.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (2). Position gaskets (4) with the tabs upward. Install exhaust manifold (3). Install bolts (2) .
Tighten bolts (2) in a numerical sequence to a torque of 4 1 N m (35 9 lb in).
Tighten bolts (2) in a numerical sequence to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft).
Install studs (1). Tighten studs (1) to a torque of 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft).End By: Install the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
