Introduction
This special instruction provides the information for replacing the door latch assembly on your machine. This will improve the reliability of the door latch assembly.The new door latch assembly may be placed onto the machines that are listed in Table 1.

Remove five screws (9) from cover (2). Remove cover (2) from the door. Retain five screws (9) and cover (2) .

Remove clip (6) and pin (7) from clevis (8) in order to disconnect door latch assembly (1) from door handle assembly (3). Retain clip (6) and pin (7) .
Remove three bolts (4) and three washers (5) from door latch assembly (1). Retain bolts (4) and washers (5). Remove door latch assembly (1) from the door.

Place the new door latch assembly (1) onto clevis (8) with pin (7) .

Secure clip (6) onto pin (7) .

Place one bolt (4) and one washer (5) into the top hole on door latch assembly (1). Make sure that bolt (4) is only halfway into the hole.

Install two bolts (4) and two washers (5) into door latch assembly (1). Make sure that two bolts (4) are loose.
Pull the handle forward on the door latch assembly (1). Tighten three bolts (4) to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).

Secure cover (2) to door with five screws (9). Tighten five screws (9) to a torque of 6 1 N m (4 1 lb ft).Procedure to Install the Door Latch Assembly on the Left Hand Door
Repeat Step 1 to Step 9 for the procedure to install the door latch assembly (1) on the left hand door.
