(2) Screens for torque converter, hoist, and brake oil coolers The brake oil coolers (1) are located on the right side of the engine. Engine coolant from the water pump flows through brake oil coolers (1). Then, the engine coolant flows back to the cylinder block.The rear brakes are cooled by oil. The brake cooling oil from the hydraulic tank is pumped to the oil coolers (1) by the brake cooling pump. Oil is also supplied to the brake oil coolers (1) from the following areas:
Torque converter lockup clutch pump
Torque converter
Service brake system
Hoist control valveThe oil then circulates around the rear brakes and around the wet front brakes (if equipped). The oil is then allowed to drain back to the hydraulic tank.A screen (2) for rear brake oil cooler (1) is located behind the plug.The oil cooler relief valve for brake cooling is located on the control valve. The oil cooler relief valve prevents excessive pressure from the gear pump. The relief valve opens when the oil pressure exceeds the relief pressure.
