Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Install the body retaining pin. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Body Retaining Pin - Install".
Drain the hydraulic and transmission tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter Sump Oil - Change".

Disconnect harness assembly (2). Remove bolts (3). Remove guard assembly (1).
Position a suitable container under the gear pump.

Disconnect hose assembly (4).

Remove screen group (5).

Disconnect hose assemblies (6).

Remove tube assembly (7). Remove support cover (8).

Loosen clamp (9). Position tube assembly (7) out of the way.

Disconnect hose assemblies (10), (11), (12), and (13). Position adapter (14) out of the way.

Attach a suitable lifting device to gear pump (15). The weight of gear pump (15) is approximately 86 kg (190 lb). Remove bolts (16).

Position two bolts (16) in order to separate gear pump (15) from torque converter housing (17). Remove gear pump (15).

Remove nut (18).

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove gear (19).

Remove key (20).
