HOSE AS 1882599 - Caterpillar

Flip the grill back over and mount shield (7) using three bolts (13), three nuts (8) and six washers (12), one on the grill and one on the shield side for each bolt. Tighten the bolts to 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).

(D) Air cleaner (E) Hose (F) Clamp
Loosen hose clamp (F) and remove hose (E) from air cleaner (D). If you cannot access this area, remove the coolant package gas strut and mounting bracket to be reassembled after pre-cleaner installation.

Install plug (1) from the inside of the machine, into hole that the removed ambient air intake hose was occupying.

Lift arms above the cab, high enough to open the door safely and exit the cab. Attach hoist or install safety brace on cylinder. lifting the arms will allow for line of sight to bolts as well as the area necessary to attach the grill. The height may be adjusted down to create the clearance necessary for grill installation.

Assemble pipe assembly (5) to hose (6) with hose clamp (10). Do not torque hose clamp at this time.

Take the pipe assembly (5) and hose assembly (6) assembled in previous step and guide into the engine compartment from above. Attach to the open port on the air cleaner using hose clamp (9). Do not torque hose clamp at this time.

Retrieve the grill with the shield attached. Facing the rear door, lift the grill above the link and angle grill as shown. Slide grill under the ride control assembly, if equipped, and up to the pump. To rotate the grill down, pull on the top of pipe assembly (5) until pipe assembly (5) is inside of the cutout. Attach the support strut (15) on to the grill on the left side and secure the grill with the cotter and pins (B) .

Adjust the position of the pipe in order to align the holes on the bracket with the frame holes. Positioning the pipe may require pushing the pipe further into the hose. Once aligned, use two bolts (13) and two washers (11) to mount pipe assembly (5) to the frame. Torque bolts to 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).
Once pipe assembly (5) has been assembled to the frame, go back and torque the hose clamp (10) between pipe assembly (5) and hose (6) to 7.5 1 N m (65 9 lb in). Torque hose clamp (9) between the air cleaner (D) and hose (6) to 4.5 0.5 N m (40 4 lb in).
