Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Illustration 1 g01157241
Use a suitable press and install the shaft into the support.
Illustration 2 g01157178
Install pin (2) into shaft assembly (1).
Use Tooling (A) and install the bearing cups into fan drive hub (6).
Apply Tooling (B) to the inside of fan drive hub (6).
Pack bearing cones (5) and (8) with Tooling (B).
Install bearing cone (5) and spacer (4) into fan drive hub (6).
Use Tooling (A) and install seal (3) into fan drive hub (6).
Install shaft assembly (1) into fan drive hub (6).
Install spacer (7) and bearing cone (8).
Install bolt (9) and the washer. Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 115 5 N m (85 4 lb ft).
Install cap (10). End By:
Install the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Install".
