The 1366551/">136-6551 Differential Gear may not be heattreated/hardened to the design specification on certain 950G Series IIand 962G Series II Wheel Loaders and IT62G Series II Integrated Toolcarriers.If the gears were not hardened to specification, the gear teeth will wearrapidly during early hours of operation.AFFECTED PRODUCT

Inspect the machine for service hours. If themachine has less than 50 service hours, drive the machine for 3 hours ina figure eight pattern. Then remove the drain plug and inspect the magnet,also take an oil sample. If there is evidence of debris on the magnet,or if the iron particle count is greater than 500 ppm, replace the gear.If there is no evidence of debris, the gears are considered to be heattreated/hardened to the correct specification and nothing else needs tobe done. If the machine has more than 50 service hours, remove the drainplug and inspect the magnet, also take an oil sample. If there is evidenceof debris on the magnet, or if the iron particle count is greater than500 ppm, replace the gear.
