7. Fasten tool (C) and a hoist to plate (3). Put the plate in its original position on propel motor (4). Install six locknuts (6) that hold the unit together.8. Fasten a lifting sling, tool (B) and a hoist to propel motor (4) and plate (3). Put the unit in its original position in the drum assembly. Install twenty bolts (5), the washers and locknuts that hold the unit in place.9. Put mount (1) in its original position on the propel motor. Start By:a. remove hydraulic propulsion motor The disassembly and assembly procedure is the same for the front and rear hydraulic propulsion motors. Use tooling (A) on the front hydraulic propulsion motor and tooling (B) on the rear hydraulic propulsion motor.
Spring washer (1) is under compression. To prevent possible personal injury or death, it is important that a 1A1135 Bolt be used with tooling (A) or (B). Inadequate bolt length can cause tooling (A) or (B) to disengage from the threaded hole in the piston in the propel motor before all spring washer compression is released.
1. Fasten tooling (A) or (B) to the piston in the propel motor as shown. Be sure the 1A1135 Bolt which is part of tooling (A) and (B) is threaded completely into the piston. Compress spring washer (1) with tooling (A) or (B) by turning the 1A1135 bolt. With the spring washer compressed, remove snap ring (2) with tool (C). Slowly release the compression on spring washer (1), and remove it.2. Install tooling (D) as shown. Remove the piston and o-ring seal (3) from the brake assembly housing.3. Remove eight socket head bolts (4) and brake assembly housing (5).4. Remove shim pack (7). Remove ten external tooth brake discs (6) and nine internal tooth brake discs (9).5. Remove o-ring seal (8).6. Remove socket head screw (12), and drain the hydraulic oil from the unit.7. Remove shaft (10) from valve housing (11).8. Remove sixteen socket head bolts (13) and valve housing (11) from the support assembly.9. Remove o-ring seal (15) from valve housing (11).10. Put an alignment mark on valve (14) as to its location in the valve housing. Remove valve (14) from valve housing (11). When valve (14) is removed from valve housing (11), springs (16) may remain in the valve housing.11. Remove eight springs (16) from valve (14).12. Remove three valve rings (17) from valve housing (11).13. Remove seal (18) from valve housing (11).14. Remove cam (19) and cylinder block assembly (20) from the support assembly.15. Disassemble cylinder block (20) as follows:a. Remove spring pins (21) with a hammer and punch.b. Remove retainers (22) and piston assemblies (23)16. Remove o-ring seal (24) from the support assembly.17. Remove snap ring (27) with tool (E). Remove washer (26) and shim pack (25).18. Using a press, remove studs (28) from the flange on shaft (30).19.
