Position the machine on a surface that is hard and level.
Position the upper structure parallel to the tracks. Lower the work tool to the ground.

Remove the Plate.

Remove the six bolts from the counterweight.Note: Move the counterweight a little if it is difficult to remove bolts. Refer to step 10 to move the counterweight.
Set engine speed dial to "1".

Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position.

Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls.
Open the rear access door on the right side of the machine.

(1) Main Switch
(2) Up/Down Switch
Move switch (1) to the ON position.
Use the Up/Down switch (2) to lower linkage.

Remove the counterweight hood after the counterweight is lowered to the ground.

Unbolt the two pins (3), and remove them from the block.

Lift the linkage up a little and move two pins (3) back to the linkage.

Move the linkage back to the machine.

Move the plate to lock the adjustment bolt and block.

Move the counterweight hood back.

Fasten a proper rated cable with shackles to the lifting eyes on the counterweight.

Use an appropriate lifting device to put the counterweight on suitable supports.Counterweight Installation
Perform the installation procedure in reverse order.Note: Make sure that you remove pin (11), bolt (13), and washer (14). Return these parts to the storage box.Note: Before you install the counterweight mounting bolts, make sure that the retaining pins are in the LOCKED position and that the counterweight is securely held on the retaining pins. There should be a slight amount of slack on the chains.Tighten the counterweight mounting bolts to a torque of 2700 300 N m (1990 220 lb ft).Note: After the counterweight has been installed, reconnect the wiring for the rear view camera. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Camera Harness - Disconnect and Connect" for more information.
