Assemble the complete brake group without shims (1) under retainer (3) .
Position the brake group with the flange end of the wheel spindle (4) downward.
While you rotate spindle housing (6) at least three revolutions, tighten the three bolts (2) evenly to a torque of 54 N m (40 lb ft).
Do not rotate the spindle housing (6) while you remove the bolts (2) and retainer (3) .
Measure the distance from the end of wheel spindle (4) to the end of the sprocket hub (5) .
As required, use shims (1) in order to attain distance in Step 5 minus 0.25 to 0.38 mm (0.010 to .015 inch). Use a 6J-1881 Shim if the thickness is more than 1.0 mm (0.04 inch). If the total thickness is more than 1.5 mm (0.06 inch), use two 6J-1881 Shims .
Install the retainer and the bolts. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 460 20 N m (340 15 lb ft).
