Installation Procedure

Place tie rod assembly (4) in position.
Install bolt (3) in order to hold the end of the tie rod assembly in position.
Install castle nut (2). Tighten the castle nut to a torque of 0 to 7 N m (0 to 5 lb ft).
Install cotter pin (1) (not shown) in order to keep the castle nut in position.Note: If the cotter pin can not be installed, then tighten the castle nut. This will align the hole in the bolt with the slot in the castle nut. The cotter pin can then be installed.
Perform Steps 1 through 4 in order to secure the other end of the tie rod in position.
