Remove the front tires. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Front) - Remove and Install".
Remove the front drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Front) - Remove and Install". Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.

Remove tube assemblies (1) and (2). Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4).

Install a suitable lifting device to axle (6), as shown.
Remove bolts (5) from both sides of the machine.
Remove axle (6) from the machine. The weight of the axle is approximately 1361 kg (3000 lb). Installation Procedure

Install a suitable lifting device, as shown.
Position axle (6) in the machine. The weight of the axle is approximately 1361 kg (3000 lb).
Install bolts (5) on both sides of the machine.

Install tube assemblies (1) and (2). Connect hose assemblies (3) and (4). End By:
Install the front drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Front) - Remove and Install".
Install the front tires. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Front) - Remove and Install".
