Rear View Camera
The rear view camera system consists of a camera that is located in the middle of the top of the counterweight. The rear view camera is displayed on the Work Area Vision System (WAVS) display.Note: The rear view camera system has been set up by the factory or by a Caterpillar dealer in order to provide views which comply with specified guidelines. Consult your Caterpillar dealer before any adjustments are made to the system.Side View Camera
The side view camera system consists of a camera that is located on the right front access door on the right side of the machine. The side view camera is displayed on the Work Area Vision System (WAVS) display.Note: The side view camera system has been set up by the factory or by a Caterpillar dealer in order to provide views which comply with specified guidelines. WAVS Camera
WAVS is a closed circuit video monitoring system. WAVS consists of a 178 mm (7 in) LCD display and cameras. The WAVS display screen is split vertically and displays a rear view (left side on the display) and side view (right side on the display) simultaneously. Refer to Illustration 1 for the split screen display.Power is supplied to the system when the operator turns the engine start switch to the ON position. The power On/OFF button that is on the display is disabled.The camera lens and the display screen will require periodic cleaning. Cleaning instructions for the camera lens and the display are described in the Maintenance section.Display

Display Button Operation for single camera system
Operation Procedure Notes
Brightness Adjustment Press button (D) to enable the "Brightness Adjustment". Then press either button (F) or (G) to adjust the brightness. Press any other display button to exit brightness adjustment mode.
Contrast Adjustment Press button (C) to enable the Contrast Adjustment. Then press either button (F) or (G) to adjust the contrast level. Press any other display button to exit the adjustment for the contrast.
Automatic Brightness ON/OFF Press button (B) to turn the automatic brightness ON/OFF. When WAVS is placed in the "Automatic Brightness" mode, the display will illuminate or the display will dim automatically as the ambient light increases or decreases.
The set point for the brightness can be changed by the operator. Turn the auto brightness on, and adjust the brightness to the desired level to change the starting set point.
Standby ON/OFF Press button (H) to turn the standby ON/OFF. Standby may be useful at night, when the display is not desired.
If the standby mode is on, the display will remain dark until a WAVS

Operation Procedure Notes
