2. Remove bolts (1).3. Remove fuel transfer pump (3).4. Remove service meter (2) from fuel transfer pump.Install Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Install service meter (1) on fuel transfer pump (2).2. Put the fuel transfer pump in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold it on the engine.3. Close left side door of hood.Disassemble Fuel Transfer Pump
start by: a) remove fuel transfer pump 1. Remove nut (2), gear (3) and key.2. Remove the cage (1).3. Remove the O-ring seals from the cage. 4. Remove the bearing and seals from cage with tooling (A). 5. Remove the cover (5).
Be careful not to cause damage to surfaces of cover and pump body that fit together.
6. Remove the seal from the cover.7. Remove the gear (4) and the gear and shaft (6) from pump body. 8. Remove the bearing from pump body with tooling (A).Assemble Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Clean all parts before pump is assembled. 2. Install the bearing in pump body with tooling (A).3. Put the gear and shaft in position in body. 4. Install the seal in the cover with tooling (B).5. Put a small amount of 8S6747 Permatex Aviation Type form a gasket on surface of body.
Do not let Permatex enter pump.
6. Install the cover on pump body. After bolts for the cover are tightened, the gear and shaft must turn freely. 7. Install the seals in the cage with tooling (B). Install the inside seal with lip of seal toward pump drive gear. Install the outside seal with lip near pump body. 8. Install the bearing in the cage with tooling (A).9. Install the O-ring seals on cage.10. Put clean SAE 30 engine oil on seals.11. Put the cage in position on the gear and shaft.12. Install the key, gear and nut. Turn the nut to a torque of 22 5 lb.ft. (28 7 N m).end by: a) install fuel transfer pump
